Androscoggin Land Trust first beneficiary of Helping Our Neighbors campaign

AUBURN – The Androscoggin Land Trust was recently presented a check for $2,700 from Maine Source Homes & Realty as part of MSHR’s celebration of 50 years in business. The company is giving back to the Lewiston-Auburn community with its Helping Our Neighbors Campaign, supporting six local nonprofits throughout 2022.
Jon Mercier, designated broker, presented the check to the land trust, the first of the six beneficiaries, on March 31, at Side-By-Each Brewery.
Jim Pross, ALT board member, said the donation was timely as the trust embarks on a fundraising campaign to acquire and conserve Camp Gustin on Loon Pond in Sabattus, which is being sold by the Boy Scouts of America. “With this help from Maine Source, we are building momentum in our effort to protect Camp Gustin for public camping, hiking, and continued Boy Scout uses for generations to come,” Pross said.
The Helping Our Neighbor Campaign is funded by Maine Source Homes & Realty’s team of realtors, as well as by the company’s clients. For each house closing the company assists clients with during a given two-month period throughout 2022, the company donates $100 to one of the six beneficiary charities/nonprofits. The Androscoggin Land Trust was the designated beneficiary for January-February.) In turn, Maine Source Homes & Realty then asks the selling or buying realtor, along with the client, if they would like to match the donation. This fundraising strategy resulted in the $2,700 donation to The Androscoggin Land Trust.
