NORWAY — The Western Maine Art Group will present a solo exhibition of the works of Lovell artist Sandra Josephine Bell, “Observation, Perception, Imagination!”
The exhibition will run concurrently in May with the group’s Main Street Gallery member artists exhibition “Reflections.”
The exhibitions are free and open to the public.
Opening receptions will be held 5 to 7 p.m. Friday May 6, Matolcsy Art Center, 480 Main St. and at the Main Street Gallery, 426 Main St.
Bell is known primarily for her studio and en plein air oil paintings of Kezar Lake and the villages and countryside of western Maine. She describes her representational painting style as “mood realism.” The exhibition will expand beyond the traditional and will introduce a comprehensive collection of new works in a variety of styles, subject matter and presentation. The exhibition at the MAC will be open noon-3 p.m. Saturday throughout May, as well as by appointment, and whenever the “open” sign is displayed. The Main Street Gallery is open from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tuesday to Friday and 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday.
