Cancer Resource Center to host ‘Life’s a Party’ lunch on June 2

May. 202017

NORWAY — The Cancer Resource Center of Western Maine will celebrate National Cancer Survivor day on Friday, June 2, with a “Life’s a Party” luncheon for cancer survivors and caregivers.

The party will be from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at the Stephens Memorial Hospital Specialty Clinic building, 199 Main St., and will include food, fun and door prizes and an opportunity for survivors to put candles on a cake.

The center is also transitioning into its summer schedule, so some activity times and dates have changed. For a calendar of events and more information, visit www.crcofwm.org.

All programs offered by the Center are free to anyone impacted by cancer. New visitors are welcomed to stop by for information and to join in one or all of their activities. The center also holds drop-in hours from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. every Thursday and Friday, where volunteers are available to provide comfort items such as port protectors, wigs, hats, pillows or help those affected by cancer find resources.

Brochures and other information are also available at the center’s lending library, and anyone is welcome to stop in for a cup of coffee or tea, or a chat with a volunteer.
