MONMOUTH — Mystery writer Bruce Robert Coffin will be the guest speaker at Cumston Memorial Library, 7 p.m. Monday, March 21, via Zoom.
Coffin writes the Portland-based Detective Byron mystery series.
A former detective sergeant with more than 27 years in law enforcement, Coffin supervised all homicide and violent crime investigations for Maine’s largest city. Following 9/11, Coffin spent four years investigating counter-terrorism cases for the FBI, earning the Director’s Award, the highest award a non-agent can receive.
Winner of Killer Nashville’s Silver Falchion Awards for Best Procedural and Best Investigator, and the Maine Literary Award for Best Crime Fiction Novel, Coffin was also a finalist for the Agatha Award for Best Contemporary Novel. His short fiction appears in several anthologies, including Best American Mystery Stories 2016.
