BRIDGTON — Gallery 302/The Bridgton Art Guild supports the development of young artists through its annual scholarship in the amount of $1,000 to two graduating high school seniors pursuing an advanced education in the visual arts at an accredited university, college or institute.
Money for the scholarships is raised by Gallery 302 artists, patrons and members who donate their art.
The scholarship will be granted based on artistic ability and potential. Deadline to apply is May 1. Applicants must attend Lake Region High School in Naples ,Fryeburg Academy, Windham High School, Bonny Eagle High School in Standish, Oxford Hills Comprehensive High School in South Paris or Poland Regional High School. Home-schooled students living in those areas are also eligible.
The student must be accepted by a college, university or art institute and plan to pursue an advanced education in visual arts. The award will be presented directly to the school after the student has submitted to the Scholarship Committee proof of successful completion of the first semester. The money will be earmarked for supplies and/or books.
