RANGELEY – Winners from the competition at this year’s Rangeley Lakes Winterpaloozah have been announced.
The event took place Sunday, Feb. 20, at Haley Pond.
The Skating Club and the Rangeley Lakes Chamber of Commerce teamed up again this year to host the event, which included favorite free events from past years, including skating, curling, pond hockey, kick sleds, horse and wagon rides, marshmallow roast, snow golf, snow kite and Snowball “Ted.”
There were also three pay-to-enter competitions, with prizes awarded to winners in each competition. Competitions had a different twist this year because of conditions on Haley Pond, so the Dog Keg Pull and Buoy Ball were moved onto solid ground in Haley Pond Park.

Small Dogs – Cassie and her humans Terry Guen and Hannah McMillan
Medium Dogs – Scout (four-time champion) and humans Nancy and Gary Perlson
Large Dogs – June and her human Laura Metivier
CARDBOARD SLED
Best Design – Brooklyn Mahoney and Izzy Paridis, The Rainbow Queen

The local business community supported Winterpaloozah with prizes for the competitions as well as the horse and wagon rides with Ken’s Fellas, Bert and Ernie.
