WINTHROP – The Winthrop Maine Historical Society will hold a doll party to celebrate Women’s History month from 11 a.m. to noon Saturday, March 26, at the Winthrop History Center, 107 Main St.
Author Karen Richards Toothaker will be the special guest for the interactive make and take party, for doll-lovers of all ages, and dloos as well. Toothaker’s book, “The Rag Doll Gift,” will be available at the gift shop.
The historical society is also searching for the oldest house in Winthrop. Send your nomination along with name and contact information to WMHS at PO Box 33, Winthrop, ME 04364 or bring it to the center, 107 Main St., during open hours. Deadline is April 1.
The oldest house nominated will be crowned at the April 14 historical society meeting.
The next planned big project for 2022 will be painting the exterior of the History Center using money from a grant that WMHS received. WMHS is looking for painting contractors for the project. Call 508-320-1514 for more information.
The History Center is open 1 to 5 p.m. Thursday and Friday, and 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday.
