New executive director for historical society, museum named

RANGELEY – Michelle Landry has been named executive director of the Rangeley Lakes Region Historical Society and Outdoor Heritage Museum.
Landry has more than 20 years of experience with museums and cultural institutions, and will start her duties on March 7.
Her experience includes superintendent and CEO of Roosevelt Campobello International Park in New Brunswick and deputy director at Castle in the Clouds in Moultonborough, N.H. She has extensive experience curating and caring for historical, archival, natural history and art collections.
“The historical society has a strong foundation in preserving and sharing the Rangeley region’s fascinating heritage,” Landry said. “I look forward to building on that and working with the Board to further strengthen the organization’s impact and its connection with the community.”
Landry and her husband, Randy, spent many years living and working in New Hampshire, and most recently lived in Lubec. They both enjoy outdoor pursuits said they look forward to relocating to the Rangeley Lakes region.
“We are very excited and looking forward to working with Michelle,” said RLRHS Board President Eugenie Francine. “Her vast experience, knowledge and enthusiasm are a great fit for the organization.”
RLRHS was founded in 1959 with a mission to preserve, celebrate and share the history and heritage of the region. The society has museums in Rangeley and Oquossoc. For more information, visit outdoorheritagemuseum.org.
