AUBURN – Auburn’s annual New Year’s celebration, New Year’s Auburn, will begin at 6 p.m. Friday, Dec. 31, and include food, beer, live music and fireworks.
City officials are encouraging attendees to enjoy the holiday safely.
“We want everyone to have an incredible time and ring in an epic new year,” Mayor Jason Levesque said. “We also want to make it possible for attendees to celebrate safely.”
People generally do not need to wear a mask in outdoor settings according to the Centers for Disease Control, but organizers of the event urge attendees to consider wearing a mask and to maintain adequate social distancing. Masks will be available at the event.
“There will be lots of room to spread out on Main Street and in Festival Plaza, so we hope everyone will plan to join us,” Levesque said. “Stay a couple of arm lengths from others, use our sanitizing stations, enjoy the food, beer, music, and fireworks, and have an incredibletime as we celebrate the start of a fresh new year.”
new Year’s Auburn will be held at Festival Plaza, and is free and open to the public. It will feature live music from Like Father, Like Son; Motor Booty Affair; and Hello, Newman. Food truck vendors will include Pinky D’s Poutine Factory, Tripps Farmhouse Café and Salty Dog BBQ. Side by Each Brewing Co., Gritty’s, Craft Brew Underground, Mason’s Brewing Co., the 1800 Club and Lost Valley Brewing will provide the beverages. Fireworks are at 10 p.m.
New Year’s Auburn is hosted by the city of Auburn and Uplift LA.
