FARMINGTON — Franklin Savings Bank has promoted Derek Hayes to senior vice president, director of commercial Lending.
Hayes, who has been with Franklin Savings Bank for two years, has brought strong leadership to the management and administration of the bank’s commercial lending function, said Peter Judkins, president and CEO of the bank, in a news release.
“Derek has proven to be a tremendous addition to the management team at Franklin Savings Bank,” Judkins said.
Hayes said he’s “excited about the development and enhancement of our commercial lending business over the past several years.”
“Our approach, focused on responsiveness and customer experience, continues to set Franklin Savings Bank apart from our competition.”
It was Hayes’ vision that played a major role in the decision to expand commercial lending to the coast, the release said. He said that the bank’s expansion Down East has been well received. “I appreciate the bank’s faith in me as we work to enhance our commercial banking offerings, both in our current and developing markets.”
Hayes joined Franklin Savings Bank following his work at a coastal bank, where he was vice president, commercial regional manager, in Hancock and Washington County. He has more than 14 years’ experience in commercial banking and was a regional team leader for five years before assuming his role as director of commercial lending at Franklin Savings Bank in 2015.
Hayes is responsible for managing the bank’s commercial lending activities.
Hayes has been nominated to serve as a board member of the Maine Chapter of Risk Management Association and is a member of the Business Advisors Committee of the Finance Authority of Maine. He is also Treasurer and board member of the Titcomb Mountain Foundation.
He is an avid photographer and outdoor enthusiast, and lives in Farmington with his wife and children.
Franklin Savings Bank, located in Farmington, has branches in Jay, Rangeley, Rumford, Skowhegan, Wilton and Ellsworth.
