LEWISTON — La Rencontre has returned to the Gendron Franco Center, with a holiday-themed event that includes a lunch and live holiday music in the downstairs Heritage Hall. La Rencontre will begin with a 9:30 a.m. social time and 11:30 a.m. lunch on Thursday, Dec. 9 at the Franco Center, 46 Cedar St. Lunch will include tourtiere, butternut squash soup and cake.
La Rencontre (the gathering) is not restricted to French-speakers or even those of Franco descent. All are welcome to attend this event.
Musical entertainment will feature Nel Meservier, Melissa St. Pierre, Lorraine Giasson, Sue Caron, Debbie St. Pierre Robitaille, Bob Mathieu, and a special appearance by Mike Willette.
Tickets for La Rencontre must be bought by noon Monday, Dec. 6, and are $15. The price includes the meal and entertainment. Proceeds from ticket sales will benefit the Gendron Franco Center and its mission to preserve its home in the former St. Mary’s Church and to bring the best in arts and entertainment to the community.
