TURNER – The 2021 Music for Mavis Tuesdays at the Gazebo has been dedicated to “Aunt Gramma” Nette Leavitt and Dick Thibideau, who both championed the cause of music and the arts in the community.
“Over many years their lives enriched us all through their love of community: from library dedication, quilting, electrifying many of our homes and businesses, school board and other board involvement, years and years of teaching and mentoring many, many students into the greatness of their lives, to say nothing about being a tremendous mother, father, grandfather, grandmother, and to me, Nette, the greatest of aunts,” said Paula Anderson, organizer of the music series.
She said that, in the Gazebo cause, “Nette got us off our butts, helped us to round up spectacular, exceedingly generous key players, from Dick to Kurt, Dave Morris, designer, to the Dunn boys, and Berrys, and many many more.”
“She helped mobilize the entire community into the effort of bring more music into our lives. Thank you so much Aunt Nette and Dick for all you have contributed to this particular cause. Bette and Terry Twitchell, Evelyn Lent, the Sturdevents, among others have given generously to the nonprofit Music for Mavis in memory of Annette Leavitt.”
