LEWISTON — Lewiston Public Library’s Teen Room is holding a manga drawing contest this fall.
Submissions to the “Teen Manga Battle” can be made online via Google form or in-person at the Teen Desk on the second floor of the library beginning Oct. 1 and running until Oct. 31. Voting will take place from Nov. 1 through Nov. 7 via the @lplonline Instagram and LPL Teen Discord.
Two winners will receive a pack of manga-making supplies as a prize.
Teen artists can submit one piece of manga art to join the contest. Categories are “original art” and “fan art.” Art must be no larger than a standard piece of printer paper (8.5 x 11 inches). Digital art must be no larger than 2250 x 3300 pixels. Subject matter must be appropriate for display on library social media and in the Teen Room. Art pieces will be shared on social media for voting and displayed in the Teen Room. Those who do not want their art to be shared should not enter the contest.
Participants must be between the ages of 12 and 19 and live or go to school in Lewiston Public Library’s service area of Lewiston, Auburn or Minot. The Teen Manga Battle is presented in partnership with the Portland Public Teen Library.
