MECHANIC FALLS — The Maine Country Music Hall of Fame will present a premiere performance of its new production, “Maine Country Music – Its History at Home and Beyond,” at 3 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 11, at Gracie Theatre, Husson University in Bangor.
The show will explore the history and roots of country music and musicians, all with ties to Maine. It will be taped for broadcast by students of the New England School of Communication at Husson, and will feature musical performances by 15 Maine Country Music Hall of Fame inductees.
Hall of Famers appearing will include Jeff Simon, Chris Fyfe, Tommy Thompson, Ken and Jane Brooks, Joe and Nel Kennedy, Phil and Ellie LaClaire, Don Nickerson, Paul Main, Ronnie Chase, Lou Mathieu, Sharlene Hooper and Bonnie Rairdon.
The Maine Country Music Hall of Fame, at 272 Lewiston St., was established in 1978. It is the only physical Country Music Hall of Fame Museum east of Nashville. It houses hundreds of memorabilia of its 130-plus inductees.
