AUGUSTA – Kenny Wing, of Eustis, will talk about the 1775 Arnold expedition at the Kennebec Historical Society’s September presentation, 6:30 p.m., Thursday, Sept. 16, at the South Parish Congregational Church, 9 Church St.
The program is free and open to the public, and will be preceded by the historical society’s annual meeting at 6 p.m. KHS will follow current Maine CDC guidelines for the meeting.
Wing’s interest in Benedict Arnold and the expedition to fight the British in Quebec City was passed on by his father, who was an expert on Arnold’s expedition through the Eustis area. Both he and his father have discovered several sites in the area where the expedition rested while on their way to Quebec City. The Wings’ Arnold expedition artifact collection has contributed greatly to what is known about the expedition.
Wing’s presentation was originally scheduled for July 2020. He is a co-author of “The Lost Villages of Flagstaff Lake,” and has done research for several authors of other books about the area.
