Maine Music Society Chorale presents ‘Songs of Carole King and James Taylor’

LEWISTON — Want to feel the Earth move? Get up in the morning with a smile on your face? Then come celebrate the music of two extraordinary popular composers and Kennedy Center honorees Saturday, May 20, beginning at 7:30 p.m. at the Gendron Franco Center, 46 Cedar St. A second performance is planned for Sunday, May 21, at 3 p.m.

Under the direction of Artistic Director John Corrie, the Maine Music Society Chorale has prepared energizing arrangements of songs you’ll recognize in the first few notes. Selections of James Taylor include “How Sweet It Is To Be Loved By You,” “Sweet Baby James” and “Fire and Rain.” Carole King favorites will include such wonderful songs as “So Far Away,” “I Feel the Earth Move” and “You’ve Got a Friend.”
