Treat Memorial Library has new books for August

LIVERMORE FALLS — Treat Memorial Library has added a lot of new books for your summer reading enjoyment.
Some of the new ones are “A Cat in the Stacks,” by Miranda James, “Grow Food for Free,” by Huw Richards, and the young adult fantasy “The Nature of Witches,” by Rachel Griffin.
The library is now open with no appointment required. Staff requests that patrons still wear masks and limit their time in the library to 30 minutes, to protect those who have not been vaccinated or are otherwise medically vulnerable.
The library continues to offer curbside service as well.
There’s still time in August to view all the clues in the “Mystery of the Cat Burglar” challenge and enter the drawing for book basket prizes. Clues are available at the library, on the Facebook page, through our email newsletter list and on the Beanstack service (treat.beanstack.org).
Submit your answer to the mystery by Saturday, Aug. 14 to enter the drawing.

Online Story Time is 10:30 a.m. Wednesday on the library Facebook page. Kids will get to join the library staff for some of their favorite picture books, rhymes and songs.
The online book recommendation program, Bonkers for Books, will be posted Saturday, Aug. 7, and Aug. 21. Check out what books the staff has been loving lately. They try to include something for everyone, with a variety of genres and books for different ages.
The Zoom Book Club will meet at 3 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 12. The Books About Books theme continues with “Mr. Penumbra’s 24 Hour Bookstore,” by Robin Sloan, a modern day fable with elements of mystery and fantasy.
