WATERVILLE — Hospice Volunteers of Waterville is pleased to welcome four business leaders from the Waterville area as new members to its board of directors. The Hospice Board of Director’s are active participants and advocates for the mission and activities of HVWA to include development of policies and procedures, maintain development and growth objectives as well as financial support for the annual operating expenses.
Joining the Board are Rick Forsley, Seven Grenier, Robert “Luxy” LeClair and Natalie Tortorella.
On behalf of Hospice Volunteers of Waterville Area, Gerald St. Amand, chairman of the board, welcomes the four new members to the board. Their varied work and educational experiences, he noted, will complement the current makeup of the board, allowing for continued support of the HVWA mission.
Rick Forsley, financial advisor — Forsley has been working in thevfinancial services industry since 2006. He earned a bachelor ofvscience in business administration from Thomas College and is nearingvthe completion of his MBA through his Alma Mater. vAs a previous owner of three businesses, Forsley has extensive marketing, sales and management experience.
In 2006, Forsley joined Choice Investments as a partner in 2009 and has been owner/president since 2014. He resides in Oakland and is an avid golfer, skier, gardener and naturalist. Forsley has two grown children and has been a foster parent for many years. He has had the pleasure of overseeing a full and vibrant household. He currently serves as a board member of Waterville Country Club and also serves on the Thomas College Alumni Relations Committee.
Seven Grenier, associate director, Office of Grants and Sponsored Programs — Grenier is celebrating her 17th year as an employee of Colby College, but her association with the campus began much earlier in 1985, working first in the Colby business office and then in 1991 as a non-traditional, full-time student majoring in administrative science. She earned a bachelor of arts from Colby College and a master’s in business administration from Thomas College.
In 2000, Seven returned to Colby full-time to work in college relations as an administrative assistant for the Corporate, Foundation and Government Relations office, starting to hone the skills that would make her successful in her current position within the department.
Now an associate director in the Grants office within the Division of College and Student Advancement, Seven has formed close working relationships with many of the faculty across campus and supports their efforts to secure grant funding for their research, sabbaticals and publications. She also oversees numerous stewardship reports to various foundations and charitable trusts, and she searches for prospects for the college’s grant-funded initiatives.
To remain active in the Waterville area community, Seven was a parent volunteer for Winslow High School’s Field Hockey Boosters, Project Graduation and Alfond Youth Center Young American’s Dance program. She recently joined the Board of Hospice Volunteers of Waterville Area for a three-year term. She resides in China with her husband Mark, a cat and two dogs. They have one grown daughter. In her free time, she enjoys traveling, reading and following the Red Sox.
Robert “Luxy” LeClair, executive manager Central Maine Motors Auto Group/retired — LeClair has spent his 65 years living and working in the Waterville, Winslow area. The highlight of his professional career was the 30 years he spent working for the Gaunce Family at Central Maine Motors Auto Group.
LeClair started in 1985 as a sales person, working his way up to general manager and retiring at the end of 2014 as executive manager. Since then he continues his ties to the dealership working on a part time basis. LeClair takes great pride for the close relationships he has made with the employees and customers along with the lessons about community involvement learned from the Gaunce family. He coached midget football in Winslow for 18 years as well as four years with Little League.
He worked to help and promote the One-in-Five 5K run for Sexual Assault Crisis and Support Center and has been a hospice volunteer for the resale shop for the past five years; he recently joined Hospice Volunteers of Waterville Board of Directors. LeClair lives in Winslow with his wife Marie; they have four adult children. In his spare time he loves to fish and travel.
Natalie Tortorella, licensed insurance agent — Tortorella currently works with Combined Benefits United in Hallowell. She earned a Bachelor of Arts in human development from Colby College in 2014 and a Master of Science in education from Boston University in 2016. During her sophomore year at Colby, she began volunteering at Hope’s Place, a grieving children’s program associated with Hospice Volunteers of Waterville Area.
She soon became the program director for Hope’s Place at Colby and recruited students to facilitate groups. While at Colby, she also participated in Hardy Girls Healthy Women, Boys to Men and Colby Cares about Kids. After leaving Colby College, she moved to Boston to pursue her master’s degree and complete Teach for America, a two-year program teaching in Lynn, Mass.
Upon completion of the Teach for America program, she bought a house in Augusta and was quick to jump back into her work at Hope’s Place. Tortorella resides in Augusta with her dog and enjoys guiding white-wate rrafting trips during the summer months. She spends free time volunteering in elementary classrooms.
Hospice Volunteers of Waterville Area is a non-profit volunteer-based, community-funded organization founded in 1980 serving 27 communities in Central Maine. HVWA’s mission is to provide non-medical support to individuals and their families during the last phases of life.
