AUBURN — Veterans can get a free coffee and doughnut or cookie if they stop in to Tripp’s Farmhouse Cafe, 1056 Center St., the morning of Saturday, May 27. The coffee and pastry will be available from 7 to 10 a.m. that morning, before the memorial unveiling at Veterans Memorial Park in Lewiston, owners Mark and Jenn Tripp said.
Tripp’s is a dedicated gluten-free facility, and also provides dairy-free items. Past LA Veterans Council Chairman Paul R. Bernard said that owner Mark Tripp has often supported veterans in the past.
“Mark has been with the Auburn Fire Department for six years and has volunteered numerous times on Veterans Day, Bernard said.
The LA Veterans Council will hold its Memorial Day parade at 9:30 a.m. in Lewiston, and unveil the 29th stone of the veterans memorial, with 216 names inscribed, at the park at 10:30 a.m.
The council includes veterans organizations from Lewiston, Auburn, Sabattus, New Gloucester and other area communities.
