‘Women of the Sea’ is Kennebec Historical Society July 21 topic

AUGUSTA — The Kennebec Historical Society’s July Facebook Live speaker is Ali Farrell, who will discuss “Pretty Rugged – True Stories from Women of the Sea” at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday, July 21.
The presentation airs live on the KHS Facebook page, airing live, as well as be avaiable to watch later. Those with questions may submit them in the comments during the live presentation.
“Pretty Rugged” dives into the gritty lives of female commercial fishermen as they hunt their prey on the dangerous seas in the commercial fishing industry off the rocky coast of Maine. Viewers will also learn about both the fishing communities and the current state of lobster fishing in the North Atlantic.
