NORWAY — The Table, at 160 Main St., has a busy June planned for June, including the weekly free clothing giveaway, free breakfast at the Norway Grange, recovery groups and kayaking on area bodies of water.
The Table offers free clothing from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturdays in June. Each Saturday there will be a different selection of clothing to choose from, with infant through children size 12 on June 5, women’s and older girls on June 12 and 26, and men’s and older boys on June 19.
All CDC protocols will be in place, which limits the number of people in the building at a time. Staff will be on hand to help customers find specific clothing to aid in an efficient flow. Customers will be required to wear a mask, answer COVID 19 symptoms questions and give their name and phone number for contact tracing. Clothing donations may be made from 1 to 5 p.m. Tuesday and Wednesday, and 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Friday.
The Table’s HOGs (Healthy Outdoor Group) will transition from hiking to kayaking this month. The HOGs hiked through the winter and spring, with 16 hikes so far in 2021. The goal this summer is 21 different bodies of water for kayaking.
The kayaking schedule is: June 6, River Park in South Paris; June 13, Kezer Lake, Lovell; June 20, Marshall Pond, Hebron, limited parking, may need to car poool; June 26, North Pond, Norway. Meetup is at 12:30 p.m. and in the water at 1 p.m. Those who want to participate but don’t have a kayak may contact the group and reserve one of the group’s extras. Life jackets are required. The group also accepts kayak or monetary donations toward buying kayaks.
The Table continues to offer free drive-by breakfasts at 9 a.m. on the second and fourth Saturday of the month at the Norway Grange, 15 Whitman St.
The Table also offeres its 160 Main St. space to area recovery groups.
The Table is an organization made up of people from the Bolsters Mills United Methodist Church, the Norway Grange and community members.
