Farmington announces Earth Day cleanup award winners

FARMINGTON — Farmington’s dedicated Earth Day Cleanup volunteers turned out on April 22 in freezing temperatures, strong wind and the occasional flurry for some brisk outdoor exercise and to make a difference.
Prizes went to:
Youngest Volunteer was Scarlett Katzenbach, 4. Scarlett received a gift certificate from Reny’s.

Three family members tied for Oldest Volunteer — Lori, Fen and Fran Fowler, who were all awarded gift certificates from Twice-Sold Tales.

Most Adventurous Volunteer award was earned by Drew Goodridge from Kennebec Valley Board of Realtors, who won a gift certificate from Main Street Nutrition.

Oddest Litter Found was awarded to Annie and Turner Wheeler, ages 8 and 11. They won a box of chocolates and bag of gourmet popcorn from Wicked Good Candy.

The Happiest Volunteer Group or Family was a tie of two trios. The realtor team of Debbie Joseph and Lisa Libby from Exp Realty and Charlotte Lane from Coldwell Banker SRR received gift certificates and T-shirts from The Roost. The trio of Avery Jessen, Nora McCourt and Maya Kellett won Happiest Volunteer Group and received a gift certificate from Reny’s.
The volunteers all worked hard to clean up the town, waterways and woods of litter and to protect wildlife from the harmful effects of plastic in their habitat.
