AUBURN — The Lewiston-Auburn Optimist Club is looking for people to help celebrate Earth Day — Thursday, April 22 — by helping to clean up their community.
The club is looking for people to spend at least one hour walking their neighborhood with family or friends and a trash bag, to clear roadside trash, while enjoying some fresh air and exercise. Anyone willing to commit to volunteer for the cleanup effort can join in.
Gratitude gifts will be given away from 10 contributing eateries; register your efforts by calling 207-783-5269 or emailing gwmathews91@gmail.com.
Contributing restaurants include the Longhorn Steak House, Buffalo Wild Wings, Heidi’s, IHOP, Roys and The Holy Donut. If Earth Day is not a convenient day for your volunteer trash pickup day, Saturday April 24, is the back-up date. Additional gratitude gifts will be given to community volunteers.
