UMA oral health inequities webinar is April 2

AUGUSTA — A webinar panel on oral health inequities in Maine will be held Friday, April 2, sponsored by the University of Maine at Augusta and the New England Publication Health Training Center in coordination with Maine Public Health Association.
“Health Equity Dialogue: Maine Oral Health Equity,” will be held from noon to 1:30 p.m. and is free and open to the public. Registration is required. For registration information complete a form found here.
The Health Equity Dialogues will continue its topical discussions around the concept that health equity is the justice principle that everyone should have an equal opportunity to achieve health. April’s event will provide a panel of experts on dental and oral health care and equity in Maine.
Panelists include Jennifer Crittenden, assistant professor of social work and associate director for UMaine Center on Aging; Becca Matusovich, executive director for Partnership for Children’s Oral Health; Kalie Hess, associate director for Partnership for Children’s Oral Health; Kellie Stanhope, professional clinical teacher II at UMA’s Dental Health Programs, and in association with From the First Tooth; and Kathryn Walker, assistant professor of Dental Health at UMA.
The goal of the Health Equity Dialogues is to convene and connect scholars, community members, public health professionals, and healthcare practitioners across disciplinary divides and siloes to work on high-priority community health challenges in Maine. The series is an initiative of the UMA Social Sciences Program, led by assistant professor of sociology Kate Darling and assistant professor of communication Valerie Rubinsky.
