Oxford Hills Duplicate Bridge Club winners announced

OXFORD — Oxford Hills Duplicate Bridge Club met recently to enjoy a 5 1/2-table Howell movement game at the Oxford Recreation Department building, 223 King Street.

Finishing first in flight A were Pete Cummings (S.Paris) and Dick Allen (New Gloucester); second were Barbara Newcomb (Portland) and Rosemarie Goodwin (Lewiston); third were Dottie Kelleher (Windham) and Mike True (Auburn); fourth were Cynthia and Bill Clifford Jr. (Lewiston), who also were first in flight B.

Second in B were B.J. and Steve Cavicchi (Bridgton), who also were first in flight C; third in B were Cindy and Bob Kirchherr (Norway), who also were second in flight C; fourth in B were Eleanor and Lindy Wigton (Lewiston); third in flight C were Jim Dickens (Naples) and Denny Raymond (Waterford); fourth were Elaine Dresser (Bethel) and Arlen Riis (W. Paris).

The next game will take place Friday, April 28 at 9:15 a.m. at the Oxford Recreation building. All bridge players are cordially invited, and partner is always guaranteed. Bridge games are on on-going activity at the same time and place each week; they are canceled on holidays or if school is called off.

Upcoming special events include the annual “Longest Day” Alzheimer’s benefit, which will be held Wednesday, June 21, with the usual three games — 9 a.m., 1 p.m., 6 p.m. Food will be provided.
