NORWAY — The town is seeking proposals for the care and maintenance of the flower gardens and garden areas along Main Street, Town Manager David Holt announced.
The maintenance would be for this year’s fall and summer seasons, and the area covers the area beginning with the median area along Main Street to Aubuchon Hardware, the area across from the Legion Hall at the Rowe School, the garden by Norway Brewing Company, the flowers around the fountain at the fire station, the garden surrounding the municipal parking area on the corner of Cottage Street, the kiosk area and surrounding gardens, and ending at the west side of Butters Park. There are seven areas in all, as well as the gardens of Water Street parking area and on both sides of the foot bridge for the spring, summer and fall seasons of 2017.
Care and maintenance includes annual mulching, routine weeding, trimming, pruning and cleanup, application of fresh dark mulch in the spring; edge annually; tend, weed and deadhead two times per month; and trim all shrubs and fruit trees annually; as well as conduct garden winterization and fall/spring garden cleanups.
