SABATTUS — The Harry Conway American Legion Post 135 will hold its first 5k fundraiser on Memorial Day, Monday, May 29, beginning and ending at the Legion hall on Island Road, off Main Street. Registration will be held on race day, beginning at 7 a.m. at the post. The race will start at 8 a.m.
All participants are invited to stay after the event for the annual Memorial Day parade. There will be awards for the winners and raffles after the race. The cost is $20 for adults; $15 for those 16 and under. Anyone wearing a photo or other memorabilia of a veteran, family member, friend or loved one, will receive a $5 discount.
Proceeds will be used to support various Legion projects, including building upgrades and local student scholarships. For more information, or to volunteer to help at the event, call 576-2920.
