Bike Rodeo in Gray May 7

GRAY — Get a rolling start on this season’s biking with the community Bike Rodeo Sunday, May 7, from 1 to 3 p.m. , at Fiddlehead Art and Science Center, 25 Shaker Road. It’s not just for kids, either; there will be materials of interest to adults as well! Riders can be safe on the roads and trails, and the Gray Bike Rodeo is the place to learn how.

A bike rodeo is a fun event designed to teach kids how to ride safely. They’ll learn the rules of the road and get to practice their skills on an obstacle course and while playing fun games. This is for children up to middle school age who can ride tricycles or two-wheeled bikes.

There will be some bike-related safety items to give away, and there will be a raffle for a bike. A professional bike technician will be on hand to give bikes a quick safety check.

Bring your bikes and helmets. Bikes need to be in good working order; a have small amount of parts for purchase, if needed, will be available on the premises, as well as a limited supply of free kids helmets. Adults can try out a GeoOrbital bike with an electric motor giving an extra boost up those steep grades!

For planning purposes, those wishing to attend should RSVP to Fiddlehead at 657-2244. However, even last-minute decides need not despair. They are welcome to attend, as well.
