CARRABASSETT VALLEY — The Carrabassett Valley Public Library is holding in-library visits by appointment during its open winter hours.
Winter hours are 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tuesday through Saturday.
“We are open and doing everything possible to ensure a safe and comfortable library experience,” said Library Director Andrea DiBiase.
All visitors must wear a face covering, sanitize hands and keep a six-foot distance from others. There is a three-person limit inside the building. The library also offers curbside pickup and returns. There is a library return box out front for returns at any time. The box is for books, not for very large items such as puzzles and games, because they get stuck and don’t always drop down into the bin.
Staff is available during all open hours. Wi-Fi is available 24/7 and there is plenty of online services through Digital Maine Library, free ebooks & audiobooks through cloudLibrary, and streaming with Kanopy. The library also offers printing via email, and computer time for up to 30 minutes.
There is no reading by the fireplace or extended hours. The children’s play area is closed, but all materials are available for borrowing, including books, puzzles and games, movies, DVDs, audiobook, and CDs.
