GARDINER — In celebration of International Migratory Bird Day and the return of sea-run fish to the stream, two walks celebrating the marvel and mystery of migration have been scheduled for May 13 on Cobbosseecontee Stream.
Walkers will “experience the joy, adventure and discovery of being on an intown nature walk and learn about Cobbosseecontee,” organizers said. The walks are made possible by the work of Gardiner Rotary Club, Kennebec Land Trust, city of Gardiner, Upstream and Maine master naturalists.
Both events are free, and the second event is flagged family friendly. Attendees should meet at the parking lot at New Mills Dam on Route 126/Cobbossee Avenue and bring binoculars for an exploration of migration.
