FARMINGTON — Members of the Mt. Blue Area Garden Club will hold their annual spring plant sale at 9 a.m. Saturday, May 20, at Meetinghouse Park, across from the court house. Many varieties of perennial plants will be offered at reasonable prices, along with a few annuals.
The plants are grown locally, in Franklin County as they come from members and friends gardens. Anyone interested in donating plants should bring potted donations to the park between 7:15 and 8:45 a.m. that morning. The plant sale is a fundraiser for the club’s scholarship, which is offered to a Mt. Blue High School senior who is going on to study in the area of horticulture.
Last year the club gave a $600 scholarship to deserving graduate. A portion of the proceeds are also used to plant flowers at the Court House garden and the World War I Memorial Gardens. For more information, call 645-2067 or 578-0145.
