AVON — A potluck lunch and live auction will be held at the Town House to benefit resident Marie Pillsbury, who was recovering from a knee replacement when she broke her other leg recently. Lunch is at 1 p.m. with the auction to follow at 2 p.m. Saturday, May 6.
The auction will feature Sen. Tom Saviello, R-Wilton, doing the calling. There will be a food sale table open throughout the day and a donation jar as well. The proceeds from the event will help Pillsbury with home modifications and medical needs as Pillsbury works toward recovery.
Auction items are needed and can be dropped off at the Mt. Blue Standard Water District office at 11 Main St. in Phillips from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Monday through Thursday.
“Cook what you can, give what you can, and let’s work together to help our neighbor Marie,” organizers said in a news release. The event is sponsored by Phillips Community Church and Strong Church of the Nazarene.
