TURNER — Two new faces will be greeting visitors to the Turner Public Library. Kelli Burnham has recently joined TPL as its new director and librarian. Burnham lives in Turner and says she is excited to join the library community.
“I enjoy researching history, reading historical fiction, and studying 18th century clothing as part of my passion for costuming,” she says with a grin. “I am eager to help further develop programs at the library, including creative projects as part of the Maker’s Space and regular board game sessions for families and teens.”
Ellen Bradley, also of Turner, has joined the staff as library assistant. “I write both fiction and nonfiction, and I read avidly,” said Bradley. “My hobbies include knitting and spinning, gardening, and outdoor activities like hiking, sailing, and camping. Above all else, I’m the mother of a 19-year-old college student, and I am owned by a three-year-old dog. Having lived in nine states and two countries, I’m so happy to be home in Maine!”
Burnham and Bradley have been busy since their arrival, and have stocked the shelves with scores of new books, movies and audio books. Also new is Cloud Library, which lets patrons sign out free e-books and audio books to read or play on personal devices.
The library’s dynamic duo are also skilled researchers. If you need assistance finding a book, a recipe, creating a bibliography, finding sources for a research paper, or genealogical records, don’t hesitate to ask them for their help.
