Apr. 152017

AUGUSTA – Lewiston High School graduate Fowsiyo Musse, a student at the University of Southern Maine, received a $1,000 scholarship from the Legislative Memorial Scholarship Fund on April 11.

Musse, the Androscoggin County winner, and other winners were awarded their scholarships in the Maine Senate. One recipient from each Maine county earned a scholarship.

The Legislative Memorial Scholarship Fund is administered by the Finance Authority of Maine, created by the Legislature and staff to annually recognize one student from each county, who is currently or is planning to pursue education at a two- or four-year degree-granting Maine college or technical school. This scholarship is available for full or part-time students.

Applications are available for the 2017-2018 round of scholarships and are due on May 1. The application can be found on FAME’s website: www.famemaine.com.
