JAY — Residents are invited by the town Parks and Recreation Department to help celebrate Earth Day by joining the effort to clean up the Whistle Stop Trail.
The event takes place 1 to 3 p.m., Saturday, April 22, and volunteers can meet at the French Falls Recreation Area at the end of French Falls Lane, across from Spruce Mountain Middle School.
Rubber gloves and trash bags will be supplied. “Everyone is invited — individuals, groups, young and old!” said a news release from the Town Office.
The cleanup will be done in conjunction with the town of Farmington, which is cleaning up its end of the trail, the release said.
