NEIGHBORS DANCING WITH NEIGHBORS

Apr. 62017

BUCKFIELD — The annual Father-Daughter Dance was held Friday, March 17, at Buckfield Jr./Sr. High School. Cassie and Scott Violette have three daughters who attended the dance. The oldest, Kelsey, 12, attended with her father, as this is the last year she will attend. The youngest, Ayla, 3, attended with her grandfather, Glen “Bumpa” Scott. That left the middle daughter, Mckinley, 6, to find a date.

“Mckinley knew she didn’t want to share a date with her two sisters,” said Cassie. “She knew immediately who she wanted to ask and wasted no time rushing over to ask Dave, our neighbor. Of course, he obliged.” Dave is 83.

The dance was a couple of weeks away so the pair spent their visits from then on practicing dance moves, according to Cassie.
“Mckinley, Dave, and his wife, Jean, are best friends and an inseparable trio. Their relationship is like finding a gem in a mountain of pebbles,” said Cassie. “Whether it is going to get ice cream on a hot summer day, accompanying her to a dance, or just hanging out and having Jean make them snacks, their bond is something oh so special with memories more precious than gold.”
