LEWISTON — Does spring inspire you to bake? Do you love to bake and want to help save lives? Would you like to help Tommy’s Feral Feline Friends?
The group is looking for bakers and baked goods for its Easter Extravaganza Bake Sale and Bottle Drive from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Friday and Saturday, April 10 and 11, in the old office at Sabattus Street Self Storage, 1434 Sabattus St. Anyone can help make this Easter bake sale a memorable one for Tommy’s colony kitties.
Baked goods, bottles and donations will go a long way to help Tommy’s mission to save the lives of the forgotten feral of the colonies and those crossing our path every day.
Tommy’s is a no-kill rescue in Sabattus that takes in abandoned and abused cats, gives them medical care, and provides safe shelter for them to live in. The cats who live in colonies continue to be be resilient despite adversity, cofounder Norm Blais said.
Tommy’s provides medical and personal care for cats, including removal of tumors to repairing wounds; cancer treatment; annual checkups; special diet foods (homemade); dispensing daily medication, whether injections and or fluids with regular medication; dental care; emergency care; hospice care; special needs care; care for disabled kitties (mentally, physically, emotionally) and homeopathic care.
For the past 41 years, Tommy’s has been on a mission to save lives With the the past several years of widespread flooding, heavy rain, snow and windstorms bringing massive destruction with falling trees, the cat colonies have faced adversity.
“We are, more than ever, in need of funds to help rebuild and prepare our kitties for what has been several years of some the cruelest and harshest winters in Maine’s history,” said Blais.
