Turner residents invited to ‘mud’ supper April 22

TURNER — The North Turner Union Presbyterian Church is inviting Turner residents to a “mud” supper to help welcome spring, from 4:30 to 6:30 Saturday, April 22, at the GAR Hall, Route 219, in North Turner.

The supper is open to the public and admission is by donation at the door. The menu will include shepherd’s pie, hot dogs, beans and chili, along with many side dishes and desserts made by church members. Proceeds from the dinner will go toward the assistance programs the church offers to town residents.

The April 22 supper will be the first of four public dinners that the church will give this year. A ham supper will be held in May, a chick barbecue in August, and a harvest supper in October.

Church members also maintain the Turner Food Pantry, which is open the fourth Wednesday of every month and the church Clothing Closet, which is open from 6 to 8 p.m., Wednesday, from May until the end of October, weather permitting.
