AUBURN — Nichole DaRosa will be the featured speaker Tuesday, April 18, at 7 p.m. at Court Street Baptist Church, 129 Court St. She will discuss her work with “THRIVE New England” — a seedling organization working to prevent the sexual exploitation and trafficking of New England children and provide restorative whole-person care for teen survivors. This program is sponsored by the Women’s Ministries of the church for the purpose of learning how to help young teenagers, boys and girls alike, who have been sex-trafficked. This heinous crime is happening even in Auburn and Lewiston, noted DaRosa.
The program is free, but persons attending are encouraged to bring a gift card Nichole can hand out to a teenager, who has been trafficked, to help him/her purchase personal items.
After more than a decade of teaching children, DaRosa became aware of the threat of sexual exploitation and has since been dauntlessly generating awareness. Her passion for empowering and educating children led her to join THRIVE New England’s executive team. She has been working with THRIVE since 2014 to grow strategic partnerships protecting kids and battling exploitation.
