Community drum circles to be held in South Paris Jan. 4

SOUTH PARIS — Drum circles for both beginning and advanced drummers will be held Saturday, Jan. 4, at Deering Memorial Community Center, 39 Main St.
The circles will be from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., with a pot luck lunch at from noon to 1 p.m. Please bring a dish to share. Those who have always wanted to learn or to try drumming are welcome to attend. No experience is required, and all levels of drumming, from novice to master, are held in community. Children, under the supervision of a responsible adult, are welcome.
There are drums and other percussion instruments for those who don’t have their own.
The session begins with simple exercises of beat and rhythms and works into more complex and intricate creations of sound. The beginner circle is 10 a.m. to noon, advanced is 1 to 3 p.m.
