Katahdin Valley Boys to perform at UMA Jan. 12

AUGUSTA — The Katahdin Valley Boys will perform at the Fireplace Lounge in the University of Maine at Augusta Randall Student Center at 2 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 12.
The performance is part of the Concerts at Jewett series, sponsored by the UMA College of Arts and Sciences and UMA Senior College. The concert is in the Randall Center while the Jewett Auditorium undergoes renovation. Seating is limited to 125, so those attending are encouraged to arrive early.
The Katahdin Valley Boys perform traditional and contemporary bluegrass and bluegrass gospel music. They have received awards from the Maine Country Music Association and the Maine Academy of Country Music and were named Bluegrass Band of the Year in 2012.
Tickets are $10, students $5, 12-and-under free. Tickets are available at Dave’s Appliance in Winthrop, and at the door. Because of limited seating, there are no online or mail order tickets for this concert. Call 207-621-3551, email office@umasc.org or visit www.umasc.org for more informaiton.
The next concert in the series will feature classical pianist Christine Letcher, both solo and as a vocalist with Bill Moseley’s PUMA jazz quartet. It will be at 2 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 23 in Jewett Auditorium.
