Two CMCC students named to 2017 All-Maine Academic Team

AUBURN — Two Central Maine Community College students are among 14 students from around the state named to the 2017 All-Maine Academic Team for two-year colleges.

Misty Edgecomb, of Auburn, and Melissa Potter, of Lewiston, as well as the others receiving the award, which includes a $500 scholarship, were honored at a ceremony in Augusta hosted by the Maine Community College System Board of Trustees.

Edgecomb is a general studies student who has earned high honors and president’s honors,and plans to complete a degree in business administration and management at CMCC and then transfer to a four-year college to study human physiology. She is the owner of M E Massage Therapy of Lewiston.

Potter earned a certificate in culinary arts last spring, and will complete an associate degree in restaurant management in May. A high honors student in both programs, she was honored last December as the college for ME Androscoggin Student of the Year.
The All-Maine Academic Team is a program of Phi Theta Kappa, an international honor society for two-year colleges.

Students are nominated and selected for the team by their college based on outstanding academic achievement, leadership and service. The All-Maine Academic Team is co-sponsored by Northeast Trophy, Phi Theta Kappa and the MCCS.
