Maine birding expert Lovitch to speak at May RRG&SA meeting

RANGELEY — Author and birding expert Derek Lovitch will be the speaker at the May meeting of the Rangeley Region Guides’ & Sportsmen’s Association.
Lovitch, whose presentation will be based on his recently published book, “Birdwatching in Maine,” was scheduled to speak in February, but the meeting was canceled because of bad weather. He was asked to attend the May meeting because there was so much interest in hearing him speak, according to a news release from the association.

The meeting will begin with a potluck supper at 5:30 p.m., Thursday, May 18, followed by a brief business meeting, then the educational program. The public is welcome at the meetings, which are held at the association’s clubhouse, Old Skyway Road, Oquossoc. Lovitch’s book will be available for sale at the May meeting.
