LISBON FALLS — The parishes of Holy Trinity, Lisbon Falls, and Our Lady of the Rosary, Sabattus, will hold an open house from 2 to 4 p.m., Sunday, April 30, at Holy Trinity Church Hall, 67 Frost Hill Ave., as part of the retirement celebration for the Rev. Lionel Chouinard.
During his priesthood over the past 52 years, Chouinard has touched many lives, especially over the last 17 years serving the greater Lisbon-Sabattus area, said a news release from the church. “We wish to invite you to join us in celebrating his answering God’s call to serve others with his special gifts and talents, which he has shared throughout his life.”
In addition to serving the greater Lisbon-Sabattus area, Chouinard served the parishes of Holy Cross and Holy Family in Lewiston, as well as St. Christopher, Peaks Island; St. Thomas Aquinas Parish, Madawaska; as co-chaplin at St. Dominic Regional High School; Holy Name Parish, Machias; chaplin of the U.S. Air Force Base in Bucks Harbor; St. Theresa, Mexico; and St. Augustine Parish, Augusta.
“His many years of spiritual guidance and civic dedication to those communities are cherished memories for those who came in contact with him,” the release said.
