AUBURN — Cast members from the upcoming Community Little Theatre production of “Annie” performed three numbers from the show at the L-A Art Walk on Sept. 27.
Tessa Hayashida (Annie) sang “Tomorrow”; Shaylyn Brown, Anna Courtemanche, Isla Shovilin, Maria Groover, Ansley Kate Watson and Julia Groover (the orphans) performed “You’re Never Fully Dressed Without A Smile”; and Renee Mahon Davis (Hannigan), Chris Dostie (Rooster) and Rachel Campoli (Lilly) performed “Easy Street.”
Based on “Little Orphan Annie,” the popular comic strip by Harold Gray, “Annie” quickly became a worldwide sensation after it opened on Broadway in 1977. Winner of seven Tony Awards, including Best Musical, the beloved show features a terrific score written by Charles Strouse and Martin Charnin, including the smash hit, “Tomorrow.”
The theater will present “Annie” Oct. 18, 19, 24, 25, and 26 at 7:30 p.m., and Oct. 20 and 27 at 2 p.m. All performances will be at the Great Falls Performing Arts Center at 30 Academy St.
