AUGUSTA — The Unitarian Universalist Community Church of Augusta, 69 Winthrop St., will host a one-hour concert with Gulimina Mahamuti 4 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 28.
Internationally acclaimed pianist Mahamuti will perform a solo recital of piano transcriptions of J.S. Bach-Egon Petri, D. Scarlatti-Enrique Granados and Schubert-Liszt, featuring music by Maine composer Lucas Richman, maestro of the Bangor Symphony Orchestra, with his “Reflections for Solo Piano.”
With decades of teaching experience, Mahamuti was an assistant professor of piano at Ohio Wesleyan University before moving to Maine in May 2018. She previously taught at Capital University, University of Missouri-Kansas City, Pittsburg State University, Northwest University for Nationalities and was an honorary guest professor at Yili Normal University.
The UUCC suggests a per person donation at its Guest Artist Concert Series, which the church shares with the musicians.
