NORWAY — Timothy A. Churchill, president and chief executive officer of Western Maine Health, has announced Drs. Peter R. Harbage, Francis Kieliszek, Brian Nolan, David J. Kumaki and William L. Medd — Oxford Hills Internal Medicine and staff physicians at Stephens Memorial Hospital — have received three-year recognition from the National Committee for Quality Assurance Heart/Stroke Recognition Program.
“For a person with cardiovascular issues, the right clinician can make the difference between living with cardiovascular issues as opposed to suffering from cardiovascular issue,” said Margaret E. O’Kane, President, National Committee for Quality Assurance. “By earning recognition, the providers have demonstrated that they provide effective, evidence-based care to patients with cardiovascular issues.”
National Committee for Quality Assurance Heart/Stroke Recognition means clinicians have met standards showing they are providing high quality, evidence-based care for their CVD and stroke patients. The Heart/Stroke Recognition Program was launched in 2003, a voluntary program designed to recognize clinicians who have met standards demonstrating delivery of high-quality care to patients with cardiovascular disease and/or stroke.
NCQA is a private, non-profit organization dedicated to improving health care quality.
