Fayette boy collects beverage tabs for Shriner’s hospital in Boston

Jul. 242019

FAYETTE — Seven-year-old Brody Hemminger of Fayette has been collecting can tabs from friends, relatives and some businesses for the past seven months. He recently delivered the tabs to Jeanne McCue, marketing & communications specialist for the Shriner’s Hospital for Children in Boston. Brody attends Fayette Central School and will be in the third grade this fall. He collected 130 pounds of tabs.
Brody plans to continue to collect tabs for another delivery next year. If you have tabs to donate, please call his grandmother, Tammy Maxwell, at 207-320-3848 or connect on Facebook at Tammy Maxwell.
In additional to delivering the tabs, Brody also brought some goodies for the children, but he was disappointed he could not personally meet any of the children being helped. He wanted to give them a treat and a few words of encouragement, letting them know he hopes they get better soon, noted his great-grandmother, Doreen Maxwell.
