AUBURN — Local musicians the Rev. Bernice Martin and Heather Pierson will lead a free special worship service 10 a.m. Sunday, July 14 at the First Universalist Church of Auburn, 169 Pleasant St.
Participants are invited to share in making music from “Heart Songs & Circle Songs,” a collection of chants, rounds and songs of peace, empowerment, wonder, joy and community.
Heather Pierson is a Maine artist performing both locally and nationally as a pianist and singer/songwriter, either solo or with her trio. She has released 11 CDs of original music, ranging in style from folk to jazz. Since 2003, she has been music director of the First Universalist Church in Norway. Pierson leads community singing workshops and group meditation with music.
Bernice Martin is a singer/songwriter who has worked in educational settings with people of all ages. An ordained community minister, she founded Voices in the Silence, a multi-faith contemplative worship series.
