LIVERMORE FALLS — There will be a patriotic music concert and sing-a-long at the Gazebo, overlooking the Androscoggin River near the bridge on Route 4) Sunday, June 30, beginning at 10:30 a.m., concluding approximately at noon.
The event, hosted by New Life Baptist Church of Jay under the guidance of its pastor, Chris Grimbilas, will welcome anyone wishing to attend.
“The birth of our nation is something we can all join together in celebrating,” he said. “We thought this was a great way for our communities to kick off Independence Week.”
The music will include with a community sing-a-long of patriotic songs, including “The Star Spangled Banner,” “My Country ‘Tis of Thee,” “God Bless America” and others. Members of New Life Baptist Church will also perform a number of other Independence Day themed songs; Grimbilas will present some quotes from the Founding Fathers and details of their lives that are intended to encourage those today who carry the nation forward.
Limited seating is available, so those attending may want to bring their own chairs.
On Sunday, July 7, New Life Baptist Church will also be hosting an Independence Week community carnival that is free for all to attend. The carnival will be held starting at 2 p.m. in the church parking lot.
New Life Baptist Church, 66 Hyde Road, Jay, is a community-oriented church that actively participates in many local events. New Life normally holds Bible classes for all ages at 9:30 a.m., and morning church services at 10:30 a.m. There is also a 1 p.m. Sunday prayer and praise service and a Wednesday evening prayer meeting and Bible study at 6:30 p.m. All are welcome to attend any of those services. The people of New Life Baptist Church strive to show love and compassion for everyone who attends.
